Iowa Quilts... quilting during our long winters...

Iowa Winters are long in my opinion, but so many people take advantage of those indoor hours by quilting.... I'm going to do more of that someday... Put it on the Bucket List... Until then, I'll just enjoy these beautiful quilts that I saw at the Iowa State Fair....

A Frosty Morning at the Iowa Farmhouse

I'm so ready for spring, yet this morning was so beautiful with Mother Nature putting on a spectacular show of frost!!  What a beautiful site from our Iowa Farmhouse.

Tones Spices... Old tins... an Iowa Kitchen Collectable

This is a picture of some of my tone spice tin collection.  Tones is an Iowa based spice company that is still in business.  I love these old tins.  They are usually easy to find and range in price from $1 to $6 depending on condition and rarity. 

Iowa Quilting

Every year our family attends the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. One of my favorite displays is all the wonderful quilts that have been made and submitted for judging. This Iowa Quilt was one of my favorites. I love sewing and quilting, but never seem to find the time, so I'll just have to admire all the creative Iowans who do seem to find the time to create such beautiful quilts!!

Farm House Winter

January can be one of the coldest longest months. I try to make the best of it in our old Iowa Farm House. Fires in the fireplace, hot cocoa, wool blankets, reading a good book, checking up on blogs... and enjoying the beauty outside.

Sunset Bliss

At our Iowa Farmhouse we are so blessed to have gorgeous views of the sunset. There is so much beauty in life.

We have the blessing of watching god paint the sky before our own eyes.
If I ever get a phase of "wishing we lived in a city or suburbia",
I look out my window and am humbled by the beautiful
view we have here at our Iowa Farmhouse.
